Important Notice

Serendipity is not operational at this time due to an ongoing dispute with the SW Ofsted team.

Due to the serious issues identified, Serendipity followed due process for the PHSO investigation and also commissioned independent reports against Ofsted’s conduct and the ‘Roles, Remit, Actions & Effectiveness of Public Bodies’ attempting to have the serious issues fully investigated. Simon Jupp MP, has been sufficiently concerned to send the report to Secretary of State for Education, Secretary of State for Justice and the Head of the Civil Service. His cover note asked for the case to be thoroughly examined.

Serendipity Residential Family Assessment Centre is an independent and privately run organisation which responds to the needs of families who have experienced difficulties providing safe parenting to their children.

Serendipity is proud of it's independent status and believe that our thorough and autonomous approach our service offers is reflected throughout the assessment process.

Throughout over ten years of service provision, Serendipity has successfully maintained and enhanced positive practices which maximise the opportunities for our residents to fully realise their potential as parents. Serendipity has fundamental belief in the importance of family and the human capacity for positive change. Our assessments are responsive to the individual needs of residents and strive to equip families with the skills and resources they need in order to make the positive changes and choices required to live safely in the community.

Child Safety

Whilst we aim to work in partnership with parents, Serendipity maintains a clear focus on the care, safety and protection of the children residing at the Assessment Centre.

The centre has been designed with safety as the first consideration; both Koru and Serendipity have extensive CCTV and audio surveillance throughout and are staffed 24 hours a day.
