What our Staff Say

I feel privileged to work with the residents of Serendipity, many of whom demonstrate so much endurance in spite of the extremely challenging circumstances they are in, and have often come from.

During placement, many residents demonstrate qualities and personal resources that were previously unrecognised and it feels positive and worthwhile to be involved in the progress they make.

Serendipity offers families the opportunity for positive change and a ‘fair shot’ at becoming full time parents. I value the opportunity to work in an environment which places so much emphasis on the importance of family and recognises the strengths of individual families.

The nature of the work we undertake at Serendipity means that I work directly with residents on a daily basis and have the opportunity to thoroughly assess, plan and respond to the needs of our resident families.

The staff team all share Serendipity’s ethos and whilst our professional opinions may vary on occasion, we respect and value each others point of view. The open communication within the team ultimately results in better assessments and services for our residents.

Serendipity has allowed me the opportunity to pursue my career, despite being a committed parent to three young children. My own family life is respected and I am given the opportunity to work flexibly so I don’t have to miss out on important events in my children’s lives.
