Koru House is a large Victorian house in central Exmouth very near Serendipity’s main house and also just a few minutes walk from the town centre, the beach and recreational areas such as the Manor Gardens.

The house comprises three family bed-sit units, one which has a separate bedroom. They are designed to be compact and comfortable. The units are equipped with furniture, TV/DVD, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery, utensils etc. The units are suitable for making breakfast and light snacks.

Rooms are set up to be as homely as possible; complete with furnishings and pictures. Families are encouraged to bring their own small personal ‘knick-knacks’ to make the unit personal and comfortable.

Items such as cots and highchairs are provided but parents are welcome to bring their own should they wish to do so. Families should provide their own clothing, food, baby equipment, towels, toys, cot bedding and money.

All main meals have to be cooked in the communal kitchen/dining area, which is fully equipped to meet requirements of the residents. In the compulsory meals families are supported by staff in the planning, budgeting, shopping and cooking of meals.

There is a comfortable communal lounge, with a colour TV and DVD player available each evening from 5pm until 10pm.

Other Facilities

There is also a selection of board games and books and a DVD Library for residents to borrow from.

Serendipity has a no-smoking policy inside the house but there are smoking areas in the courtyard.

If appropriate, a babysitting service can be provided by Serendipity, when the children have been settled, which allows parents time to themselves.

Serendipity has a 12 seater mini bus for trips out.
